About This Work
What began as a small ceramic object has become the foundation of an ongoing body of work. The fortune cookie acts as both a familiar form and a point of departure, allowing me to explore new materials, larger scales, and different ways of telling stories through clay.
I’m fascinated by the contradictions the object holds. It is playful yet sentimental, familiar yet often misunderstood, designed to be fleeting yet remembered. Translating it into clay transforms something disposable into something lasting, encouraging people to spend more time with an object they might otherwise overlook.
Each piece is handmade in my studio and reflects my belief that everyday objects can carry both function and meaning. While this collection continues to grow through new colours and finishes, it also serves as the prototype for my larger sculptural and installation practice.
